Hi Gilles!

The Gilles-Villeneuve museum opened its doors in Berthierville, where the champion grew up, in 1988. A non-profit organization bringing together many volunteers sees to its smooth running. Nearly 350,000 visitors have passed through its doors. Each year, these visitors who stop in Berthierville come from around thirty countries. Motor racing fans remember this driver who captured the imagination.

The museum's collection is impressive. The pieces in this prestigious collection are numerous and come from all over the world. From Berthierville to Maranello, in Italy, via the most legendary racing circuits, Gilles Villeneuve has left an indelible mark. Trophies, photos, helmets, suits, racing cars, snowmobiles, Grand Prix souvenirs remind us of the incredible talent of the best-known Berthelais in the world. While exploring the museum, visitors can admire Gilles Villeneuve's first racing cars, his competition snowmobiles, without forgetting his imposing 4 X 4 that he used when he spent a few days off in Berthierville, far from the Grand Cirque de F1!

Added to these hundreds of artifacts linked to Gilles Villeneuve and his exploits are memories of the career of Jacques, his brother, several times snowmobile champions and the first Canadian to have won an Indy series event, and memories of that of Jacques, his son, Indy champion in 1995 and F1 world champion in 1997.

To remember, or to discover who Gilles Villeneuve was, a “stop at the pits” is essential in Berthierville!
