Salut Gilles !

The Gilles-Villeneuve museum opened in 1988 in Berthierville, hometown of the champion. The museum is a nonprofit organization, regrouping many volunteers. Furthermore, the 300 000th visitor is expected in 2019! Every year, people from over 30 countries come to remember the exploits of the legendary racing driver.

The museum’s collection is impressive. Coming from all around the world, several pieces of this collection are prestigious. From Berthierville to Maranello, Italy, passing by the most famous tracks, Gilles Villeneuve left an indelible mark on motor racing history.

Race cars, snowmobiles, trophies, photos, helmets, racesuits and Grand Prix memorabilia remind us the most famous Berthelais of the world. While visiting the museum, people can admire Gilles Villeneuve’s first racecars, his competition snowmobiles, not forgetting his imposing pick up truck which he used while spending a few days off in Berthierville, far from the Formula 1 circus!

Added to these hundreds of artefacts relating the life of Gilles Villeneuve, the museum also exhibits race cars and souvenirs of his brother Jacques, many times snowmobile champion, as well his son Jacques, 1995 Indy champion and 1997 F1 world champion.
